For the last decade, I’ve been photographing British grassroots motorsport — early starts, muddy tracks, battered cars and the people who turn up every weekend because they simply love racing.

There’s something I recognise in these communities. I’ve always been drawn to subcultures and the people who pour everything into something that gives very little back. These cars might not look like much, but behind every one is time, obsession, ingenuity and a reason to keep turning up.

It’s a world of noise, dirt, characters and beautifully improvised engineering. Nothing is polished, and that’s exactly why I keep coming back.

British Racing Dream is an ongoing personal project, built slowly over the years and revisited whenever I can. It’s less about the racing itself and more about the people, places and strange little worlds that exist around it.
